Jaime Alvarez
Austin Region Co-Director
Jaime Alvarez, Austin Region Co-Director, is an architecture and mechanical engineering graduate with fifteen years of architecture and green building consulting experience who is committed to sustainability. I seek out opportunities with architects, consultants, engineers, and developers who share a similar commitment to deliver high quality design, sustainability, overall building performance, and health.
I have been responsible for all building phases including design, regulatory approvals, engineering coordination, and construction administration. My most recent project includes the historic restoration and renovation of the new Travis County Probate Courts, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Other notable achievements include Passive House level renovations of 1890s buildings in New York City’s Lower East Side. These buildings are affordable housing and expected to consume over 50% less energy than similar buildings built to the current energy code.
As a result of my background I am able to uniquely understand and take on whole building issues of design, energy performance, and financial feasibility.
